Meet the 2010 Convention Committee

MaryBeth Eberhard - Program Director

MaryBeth served as Co-Chair for the AMC Support Inc. convention in Columbus, Ohio.  In 2008, the board appointed her Program Director.  She lead the planning of the Philadelphia, PA (2009) convention as well as the 2010 convention in Lake Buena Vista, FL. MaryBeth is an advocate for home schooling and is the loving mother of five children: Samuel (7), Peter (5), Gabriel (almost 4) who has AMC, Lily (2) and Joseph (6 months).  Prior to being home with her children, MaryBeth taught first and third grades in an inclusive setting at an elementary school in Sudbury, MA. Marybeth and her family currently reside in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. For MaryBeth, the greatest gift of being involved with AMCSI has been the opportunity to draw support from and give support to the many families and medical professionals affected by Arthrogryposis

Savanna Keeton - Co- Chair

Sister to Jennifer Keeton (Adult AMC'er and AMCSI Treasurer), grew up calling the Shriner’s Hospital for Children and the Ronald McDonald House in Lexington, Ky., a ‘home away from home’ while her sister was having surgeries and/or receiving therapy. Savanna and her boyfriend Brock Hamilton have volunteered their time each summer to help AMCSI during convention, from the very first one in Chicago, IL. When AMCSI held their 2nd Annual Convention in Arlington, Texas, Savanna began to incorporate a program known as the ‘Sib-Shop Session’ and has continued doing so each year. Sib-Shop is designed for the siblings of AMC’ers and offers them a place during convention, ‘just for them’, for their voice to be heard, a place to openly talk about their day to day life (joys and struggles), what it’s like to be ‘the sibling’ as well as reassuring them that the role they play in ‘their’ family dynamic is just as important as anyone else’s. Currently, Savanna is in her third year at Morehead State University (MSU) and second year of MSU’s Baccalaureate Nursing Program specializing in pediatric nursing.
